Re: DA40 NG Anomaly
There are no induction hoses in our Lycoming-powered aircraft. The air filter is mounted directly to the alternate air valve, which is mounted directly to the RSA injector. If either the air filter or alternate air valve "came loose, no difference in developed power. (Of course, on the ground,...

Re: DA40 NG Anomaly
The terminology used on the G1000 is somewhat misleading. An ECU failure is not what it says it is. Basically an ECU fail warning is a caution that the ECU sensors have detected an anomaly, in this case low manifold pressure. Both the Austro and TAE powered DA40 will generally be able to maintain al...

Re: Anyone have an issue with bent gear legs?
Asymmetric tyre wear is normal on aircraft equipped with spring steel gear legs.
The legs can often look a bit strange if the aircraft has been jacked up or turned tightly before stopping. It is best to roll it straight forwards a few meters before comparing the legs.

Re: Replacement DA40 battery
With respect to the emergency battery pack. I just purchased one from Don Davis Aviation, (270) 826-6000. They gave me a small discount on the part, but only charged me for 1/4 of the shipping from Diamond. They buy 4 at a time and split the shipping charges. They also did not ship it with hazmat s...

Re: R alternator fail
Check Usense connector for loose, damaged of corroded pins and sockets.
This wiring diagram shows left Alt but it is the same for right Alt too.
If the sockets are spread like in the picture you can gently squeeze them with small pliers.

Re: Parking with trestle
How about carefully let the tyre down and see if the tailplane is going to hit the structure.
It might stay clear, or if it is only just going to touch maybe park the aircraft on a sheet or 2 of plywood to give extra clearance.

Re: Parking with trestle
I don't really see a problem if the main tyres stay inflated but if one does go down then there will be a large load placed on the tail skid.

Re: Again ECU failure
We had our wastegate actuators changed after the AD and that create ECU failure problems for us. The original wastegates worked great! Despite the replacement wastegate actuators being adjusted correctly, engine power was too slow to come up relative to commanded power. I could cowboy the plane int...
