Re: Engine failure on Astro DA42-VI
So are you saying it only did that when you put the master OFF and not autofeathered immediately by itself when the problem occurred? Yes it is correct. I met so many people that kept saying that propeller Autofeathers... I think even emailed Diamond and some point and they said that, but PoH clear...

New MSB about to be issued
This will be bad news for some owners.
As it affects the engine I would expect it to be bumped up to AD status pretty quickly, at least in Europe. FAA is a little slower to act .

And in more fairness, the DA42 has not been investigated so we don't know the cause.
PS, The DA40 was 2 years ago, not this week.

Re: 11 months delivery time for Austro engines
Hi, My DA42ng has about 250 hours left on both engines, and when I contacted my diamond service center they told me that it takes 11 months to receive new engines. Why is it taking so long to get new engines? will this change in near future? You should be able to claim an extra 50 hrs on the engine...

Re: Don’t get out with the prop running
My god that's a huge propeller...I heard of a crew member walking through one that must have been barley turning and not getting hit. Sounds more like a myth but who knows. I used to work with a guy in the military in the early 80s who had such an encounter and survived. He was removing the chocks ...

Re: RSB40-094 Rev. 1
Matt: The only part I sourced from Diamond was the reflective sleeve ($63.15 including shipping) from the Premier Aircraft parts department. they were nice enough to include it in one of their periodic orders from Canada, then just send it to me via USPS, allowing me to avoid the shipping/tariffs f...
