Re: Nose landing gear fairing

Those plates are not original installed from the factory. I think a dealer was installing them. They are a great idea though. Not original. I installed them after seeing another member's post about them. They were obtained from: http://www.dillonsaviation.com/ I've been pleased with them. Steve

Re: Nose landing gear fairing

The metal scuff plates on mine are affixed with adhesive, but the two cap screws that attach the fairing halves to the front fork go through them:

Re: Air in the tire without removing fairing

This is what I use on mine (2001 with the small access holes):

Re: SureFly Electronic Ignition

Rich: Very interesting. Those inline fuse holders for buss fuses have been in use forever in the automotive application without issues. Of course, very short transients would be more likely to affect a timed electronic system like the SureFly as opposed to the mostly analog electronic systems of my ...

Re: ForeFlight Glide Advisor

I like to have it displayed on mine, although I have set it for a worst case scenario. Also, if you pull the prop all the way back, you will get much improved glide performance. The way I use it is that if an airport is inside the circle, I have it made with ease, if slightly outside, I also have it...

Re: major fuel probe related issue -- need help

What is the concept or method that these work on? In my Vans RV8 they were literally just two plates electrically isolated from the structure. The resistance between the two plates gave a fuel quantity measurement. Lance: Not sure about the system in your RV, but the system in the DA40 is a capacit...

Re: SureFly Electronic Ignition

Rich:

Did you run on single mags at all (either the Slick or SureFly alone)? This would allow you to isolate the issue to either the SureFly or the remaining Slick magneto. I recall that you did some modification of the SlickStart wiring, could this be an issue?
