Re: "The Gap"
The previous owner of my DA20-C1 installed 3M polyurethane protective tape from Aircraft spruce. It looks great and I would assume will last longer than duct tape.

Re: COM reception problems
Problem solved! Today I went to the airport. Unscrewed the KX 125 radio using a 3/32 allen key. Removed the radio from the tray. Cleaned the contacts with electrical contact cleaner spray that I had purchased at Canadian Tire. I also sprayed the contacts at the end of the radio tray, including the a...

Re: COM reception problems
Thanks guys. I will go to the airplane tomorrow with electrical contacts cleaner spray that I purchased in the automotive department at Canadian Tire's. I will remove and put back the radio. Hopefully that will solve it. I never experience the problem on the ground. Only in the air. And only when re...

COM reception problems
On my DA20-C1 1999, the main radio is a Bendix King KX 125. When communicating with various ATC, sometimes I get excellent transmission, and sometimes I hear horrible garble with lots of noise and I can barely if at all understand what they are trying to tell me. It happened to me a few weeks ago wh...

Re: Checklists & SOP's
Thanks a lot David! Very interesting. I will definitely add some items to my own Da20-C1 checklists. I store my checklists in FltPlan Go on my phone. One thing I like about the FltPlan checklists is that I can check items. With paper checklists I have a tendency to lose track of where I am in the ch...

Re: My own airplane!
Sounds like you'll have a very nice plane in a few years! It`s already very nice! I had no idea that tie-downs had gotten so expensive at CYHU. I'll bring it up at my next meeting of the board of directors. We have a lot of land available to put in airport-owned tie downs if that's what it takes to...

Re: My own airplane!
Pascal, congratulations! It's a beautiful aircraft. Your profile indicates you're based at CYHU, my own home base. Let's get together at some point! If CYJN is your base, make sure to look up Norm. He has a DA40 based there (C-FNAC) and he knows a lot about our Diamonds. Hello Charles, I indeed had...

My own airplane!
Hi All, I finally purchased C-GSMT, a 1999 DA20-C1 from a gentleman in southern Ontario. Thanks a lot to all the fine people on this board who took the time to answer my questions. I flew it yesterday from southern Ontario to CYGK in Kingston, Ontario. I could not bring it all the way to its future ...
