Re: What comes after a DA40? (the reply)

Good! See you soon over here Kai! Yep, will definitely pass by some time in June, latest July. Nice plane, I will definitly visit you in October ... our next planned spain trip ... this time for 4 weeks. Looking forward to land with the DA40 on the firefighter runway in the mountains near your home...

Re: Looking for DA40 in western MA

Dan, there are reasons why people sell their planes on barnstormers, controller.com and other sites. A DA40 typically costs anything between $120-350k and the most normal thing is that the plane which fits your needs and price range is located anywhere in the US, maybe in Europe. So it is probable t...

Re: Deltahawk?

I can only share your sentiments on Deltahawk: on paper it looks all great, they have promised for 10 years to go into production the next year but it is hard to get facts and reliable information from the company. We have talked about Delta Hawk on this forum in a few occasions before. https://www....

Re: pilot relief tube

I am not sure Kai should really be participating in this discussion, since I think he once nearly incapacitated himself by not drinking enough (since he didn't want to pee in the Gatorade bottle). OK, Colin. That is 7 years ago, you are nearly right there and your memory withstands age impressively...

Re: pilot relief tube

OMG... a pilot relief tube? I did not know it existed and had too google myself. What comes next? Retractable on-board rolling walker ramps? I believe that a characteristic of wisdom is not to do desperate things. So if I cannot hold pee for the few hours the tanks keep me in the air and even peeing...

Re: Retro-fitting a WX-500 Stormscope

What problems I have had, Antoine? I could clearly see lightnings only a few miles away which did not show up on screen and on the other hand it indicated activity where no single cloud could be seen. If placing the antenna at the leading edge of the stabilizer could have sorted it out, I would have...

DA20 down in Germany

Yesterday, about 1.5kms away from the northern German airfield of Melle-Grönegau (EDXG), a DA20 crashed into a wind turbine at an an altitude of only 60-120ft. The 40-year-old pilot flew alone since his passenger did not show up at the airfield. He did not survive the crash. No possible causes were ...

Re: Retro-fitting a WX-500 Stormscope

I had one retro-fitted with the antenna under the belly. It did not work as expected and was not as helpful as I hoped for. I remember someone saying that plastic planes were not ideal for the Stormscope and I now wonder if Antoine´s installation was the better one.
