Re: Panel Upgrade: What would you do?
I love my avadyne panel in my Cirrus. If money is no object I'd add a 750/650 combo. I would check to see if the DFC90 digital autopilot is an option like I have. It's an equal to the gfc700 I have dual WAAS 430s and love them. Work just fine for me. I love this combo better than the entry level G10...

That looks very nice. I notice they also beefed up the padding in the seat area. That was desparetly needed for long trips. If they used the oragon aero foam it would be quite comfy.
Looks like seats from an itialian sports car.

Re: How dangerous was this?
That's exactly why I plug everything even if it's in my hanger. Doesn't take a bird long t do this. I also pull my cowl if the plane has sat for a couple weeks. It Doesn't take much time at all. Good to put an eye in there from time to time.

Re: LED langing and taxi lights STC
Why would you want to change them? The HIDs are brighter. Much brighter. I agree, I had the LEDs on mine but I replaced the incandescent bulbs not HIDs. The LEDs were brighter than the incandescents but I have the HIDs on my cirrus and love them. No contest with the LEDs. I wouldn't go LED over HID.

Re: Would you ?
By the way, my number two choice was the Mooney ovation. I almost bought a ovation 3gx with upgraded gfc700 autopilot, WAAS etc. Just missed that one at an awesome price. Also really loved the Cessna 350 but in the end, it just didn't fit my family quite right. Loved the A36, f33 but didn't have the...

Re: Would you ?
What I am trying to get to is that the DA40-180 has room to grow, technically. The plane is very much an orphan product because it does not fit the plans of Diamonds, being an AVGAS burner. If they fixed the obvious issues, it would make the life of the DA40-NG very very hard in every respect. So t...

Re: Would you ?
I'm with Antoine on this. As far as I'm concerned a 40 with G1000, WAAS and standby alternator is a legitimate 1,000 mile cruiser. Add a supercharger to it (and that should happen real soon) and now you really have a nice very efficient, capable and cost effective cruising machine. Given the fact t...
