Re: Bad transmit on pilot side, but co side okay?

Mine didn't come with the handheld...I'll start tracking one down and try it right away. I bet someone at the field has one I can borrow. You think it could still be the pilot side switch, even though I can transmit from the pilot side, just with limited range? In the hanger, with my headset plugge...

Re: 1090mhz ADS-B / noise cancelling Headset noise.

First it was toilet paper

And then it was 100LL. Word quickly spread around here that Chehalis-Centralia (CLS) had $2.80/gal avgas. Guys flew in from miles around specifically to suck up the cheap stuff. It took about 5 days. CLS is now bone dry. :D

Re: iPad in DA40

I've been having trouble with the USB cable from the Stratus USB to the iPad consistently providing power. Sometimes it'd charge, others not. I finally noticed something about this particular cable: It doesn't snap into place upon insertion, relying on friction to hold everything in place. Thinking ...

Re: 1090mhz ADS-B / noise cancelling Headset noise.

I made a special effort today to confirm, but I haven't ever noticed this after 5 years using a KT74 with several ANR headsets. The transponder antenna is right below my seat, the headset control box along my right leg, and the transponder about 1 foot away from the control box in the front panel. T...

Re: Next set of emergency batteries

I replaced these yesterday and ran into a small hiccup. I put in all the new batteries and closed the assembly. But when I checked the voltage it was not the normal 45-ish volts but merely about 20 and flaky at that. So I opened it back up and found the stack pair at fault. (For those that are not f...

Re: KAP140 Autopilot Pitch Fault

Thank you, Steve! The flight computer was removed. Only the pitch trim servo was removed and serviced. The installation manual Section 2.3.3.2 System Offset Adjustments describes, among other items, setting the NULL points for the Pitch and Roll servos. It also includes this paragraph: This procedu...
