Re: G1000nxi

Just a FYI, FS510 was not available in the DA42 until MY2021 as an upgradable option. In MY2023, it became a standard item. Do you mean available from Diamond, or available at all? The Diamond NXi software hasn't changed in over four years. The FS510 card can be purchased from a DSC or from an avio...

Re: G1000nxi

I think you need the FS510 to connect to Foreflight or Garmin Pilot. It makes it so easy to transfer flight plans it's well worth the expense. And you can access ATIS from your iPad, not just from your panel. The FS510 should be considered mandatory equipment. However, the wireless DB update through...

Re: Maintaining Austro beyond 1800 TBR

There is a very long and detailed article on Savvy's data collection and analysis of legacy engine data in the March issue of COPA Pilot. I'm not sure if any of this is applicable to Austro engines though? It's applicable if you want to understand the depth of the data and analysis that went into t...

Re: Maintaining Austro beyond 1800 TBR

Note that Colin does not have Austro engines. Savvy's work is based on the collection of a lot of engine data and now I think their second generation "AI" analysis engine. AFAIK they have no data on Austro engines. I'm pretty sure that the ECU logs, which have tons of data, are only sent t...
