Re: Oil temperature

If you start your engine below -10C you will vaporize into oblivion. It's not good for your airplane either. Ouch, sounds scary  But I'm not sure to understand what "vaporize in oblivion" means  You will go "poof." You will cease to exist. You will go where no ma...

Re: Pipistrel four seater

Jean, any idea how heavy the hybrid engine is and how heavy the batteries are?
I love the plane and would seriously consider it once fully developed.
Personally, I don't hold alot of hope for hybrid engines in a car much less an airplane.

Re: Continental Ebgines sold to AVIC International (BEJING)

...One article about the AVIC International company which was negative I have seen is that they duplicate production facilities around the world to produce parts and assemblies closest to the intended market which is very hard on the employees which have to now oversee international production issu...

Re: Continental Ebgines sold to AVIC International (BEJING)

I do not view this move by TCM as a positive for the end user. I have yet to see a company move their manufacturing out of the US and still maintain the same level of quality control. Logistically it just can't happen. I think we were never concerned about Diamond's or Garmin's production in China....

Got the same bill for N937DS. Same problem. Must be a LOT of work to fill out this form. Gerhard It takes all of about 30 minutes to fill out the form. At least that's what they say. http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/aircraft_certification/aircraft_registry/media/8050-1A.pdf Here is the answ...

Re: Oil temperature

I'm running in the 135 to 140 degree range at -10c to -16c oat. I have tried the winterization kit and didn't like it. On my plane, the kit actually ran the engine temps hotter in the winter than without them in the summer. I didn't like the kit and have not used it for the last couple of years. I s...

Re: More performance?

O.K., you guys are going to laugh at me but here's something to think about. I had an F1 aerodynamicist at my office the other day and I dragged him out to the hanger. We went over my DA40 and based on our conversation, I found some 3M tape that is very thin, flexible, white and sticks on but comes...
