Did you ever isolate it or figure out what the issue was?

Re: Ground handling help needed
FWIW, I just got an email with coupons from Harbor Freight showing that they have the winch I use (2500# 12v, with remote) and their 4-in-1 Jump Starter, with air compressor (to power the winch), for $59.95, each, on sale this weekend. To duplicate my setup, you also need a winch mounting plate ($4....

Re: G1000 Subscriptions needed
I guess I should have asked the same question when I got my DA40, but I didn't, so I only purchased the navigation database subscription. I'm still not sure what the others would give me that I don't already have with ForeFlight on my iPad Mini (attached to the left side of the canopy with a suction...

Re: B-Kool Portable A/C
First, I am assuming that the problem evidences itself whether or not the plane's engine is on, so something else that you may try would be to figure out whether the fact that you have it plugged into the plane's power socket is relevant to the issue or whether the EMF is being radiated independentl...

Re: B-Kool Portable A/C
I bought the IcyBreeze unit (http://www.icybreeze.com) at Airventure, along with their rechargeable NiMH battery pack and "smart" charger to keep it isolated from the plane's power supply, and I have no EMF problems. Of course the battery does need to be recharged. I made a sloped "st...

Re: Ground handling help needed
Bob, I have two tugs and a winch mounted to the floor of my hangar. I also painted a pair of lines, for the main gear that extend about 10' out of the hangar and about 12' into the hangar. Pulling the plane out is pretty straightforward. Putting it into the hangar is a two step procedure. First, I b...

Re: Ground handling help needed
Hi, Bob, When I got my DA40, with its 39' 4" wingspan (including the position/strobe lights), I had a 39' 11" wide hangar. I already owned a MiniMax Tug (http://www.minimaxtugs.com), so I got the adapter for the DA40. When I purchased the plane, I also purchased the PowerTow tug (http://ww...
