Re: Throttle position at idle?

On the C1's normally there is a stop on the fuel injector that you want to hit before you hit the stop in the cockpit. You should feel a little bounce when you push the throttle to the max in either direction. The stops for full throttle and for idle are located on the engine and not in the cockpit....

Re: Flaps

The DA20 has a flap overspeed inspection in the Maintenance Manual chapter 5 unusual occurrences. Not sure if the DA40 does but my guess is probably. It should give you a good baseline of where to look.

Re: High Airframe Time

Hey Derek: Our flight school currently has 3 aircraft that are over 16,000 hours of airtime. They are well flown averaging about 1000-1300 or more hours per year. They live outside for most of the summer and part of the winter. They do get a good going over at both the 1000 hour and 6000 hour inspec...

Re: Exhaust Valves and Exhaust Risers

We (MFC) have spent a lot of money with Acorn on various parts such as exhaust parts for Diamond, Cessna and Piper. As well we have had DA20 steps repaired, worn out canopy arms etc. I would definitely give them a shout. They treat us well.
