Re: Anyone used Safari Express aircraft maintenance?
The saga continues. My plane has been in their shop for 2.5 months now. In the northwest it’s so hard to find a Rotax mechanic that I’m planning on buying a different airplane. It took nearly 1 month before they could do the inspection. Which sucks because it was difficult to get my plane to them as...

Re: A1 muffler supplier?
I confirmed that the muffler is a rotax muffler with thin sheet metal welded on for the heat shroud. The muffler if $900 from Rotech motor in Canada. Don’t waste your money on the muffler from diamond. Yes it would be certified but diamond does not make the part. There are quite a few aircraft muffl...

Front strut caster bolt?
I have a 20 but I believe the design is similar on the DA-40. The front caster retention bolt has some rust and a little wear on it. The shop wants to replace it but the part is not available (new or used). Long lead time apparently. Has anyone removed and reinstalled that caster bolt successfully? ...

Front nose strut bolt repair?
I’ve got some wear on the front strut bolt, (silver area above the unthreaded part of the bolt) It doesn’t appear to be that bad, however I wanted to know if anyone has had this bolt replaced? It looks simple enough to replace the bolt (cut, drill, tap and reinstall). Or should I not worry about it?...

Re: DA20-A1 brake pads part number?
Did the parts manual have a good number? Is there a part number on the pad itself that Aircraft Spruce can cross reference?

Re: ADSB upgrade options for a laggard
I recall the price for the 345 was astronomical a few years ago. I recall around $6k installed.
I would find out if anyone has a gdl 82 on sale. I think I got a few hundred off at AS. Make sure they use the correct wire for the gps antenna.

Re: ADSB upgrade options for a laggard
You have a GTN 650? Or an older model called a 650? If you want ADSB in and out gtx 345. If you just need ADSB out gdl 82. The least expensive option I found (you can’t do the uavionix) was the garmin GDL 82. I did most of the install myself and had Cannon avionics wire it up. It was more complicate...
