Re: Outdated Garmin G1000 software - petition sign-up

My Thielert engine reached TBR last year and I decided to replace it with a CD155, rather than an Austro, because I didn't want to to be flying a single-engined plane with the landing speed of an SR22, without the getout of CAPS. Playing "hardball" like that would be playing with people's ...

Or way to keep your customers satisfied and hence drive new sales.

I would be amenable to paying for ongoing support, either through subscriptions or one off payments, but we're not being offered either.

Re: Outdated Garmin G1000 software - petition sign-up

Seems like there might come a time when the only way to keep our aircraft flying with Centurion engines will be by "upgrading" our G1000s with steam gauges! The regulatory regime for glass cockpits wasn't thought through when they were first implemented, and nobody would have predicted tha...

Re: Let's get out there and wreck some planes

Statistics about the relative safety of SR22s are all very well, but you do get a better choice of colors compared with our DA40s!

Re: G1000 KAP 140 NAV to APR transition question

After this discussion on standard rate turns, I decided to check the behavior of my G1000/KAP140 today. It took 2:37 to turn right 360 degrees and 2:55 to turn left. Not sure if I there's anything that needs to be done to address this, or if I just have to live with it.

Re: CD-155 Temporary power loss

Dear Pierre,
Has your FADEC been updated with the D4-v1.70 software (only applicable for TAE 125-02-114 engines)? Mine was, in February, but I haven't experienced this alarming issue at all, thankfully!

The rest is window dressing to make it look pretty.
Surprising really, considering that most of the man hours go into the construction of the pretty bits.

Re: Austro Engines

Just read this announcement regarding the DA50 on Diamond's web site: In December 2017 a new owner took over Diamond Aircraft with the promise for a long-term commitment: Diamond wants to be the leading company in General Aviation. The transition year 2018 was spent with re-evaluation of all ongoing...

Re: History of DA42 Legacy G1000 GDU Software Versions

Scott, I should have been more explicit about which version of the DA40 I was referring to. The TDI engined versions haven't been updated since 2006, so don't have data logging, or any of the enhancements listed since then for the DA42 TDIs. Diamond did release an update for DA40 TDIs produced in Ch...

Re: History of DA42 Legacy G1000 GDU Software Versions

That's an interesting list of enhancements which are not available for my DA40 TDI. As they made more DA40s than DA42s, I wonder where the pressure came from for Diamond to keep updating the DA42 while abandoning the DA40 at release 370.14. From an external perspective, the extra work to port the co...
