Re: DA42 fuel selection
That certainly sounds like the way to go. I read the teaser article for The Vision and thought about 65gph compared to my 12gph. 300kts is better than my 150kts, and I like the idea of pressurized and FL280, but I don't have a business that can support that fuel burn just to get me there in half the...

I've missed Greg, there's nothing like an engineer in a discussion.
Are you looking at the Cirrus Jet, Greg?

Color Me Blue
I was cruising along into Known Icing Conditions and I hit the switch. The pumps buzzed, the light lit, and the fluid level dropping. I did get a "LOW PRSR FIKI" warning (or whatever it is), but I seem to always get there for a little bit. I squinted out there on the wings, but at 5pm it w...

Re: LED PANEL LIGHTS
I had noticed that, and I found it both reassuring and a little alarming. But the few times I am turning on the system I am already a little wound up, so that contributes to that. I *want* to see that the system is working, but I could tell my wife *really* noticed the light while I had it on.

Re: Route into LA area
David, that sounds like a great trip, I hope the first of many.
Just being the tiny plane in the huge landscape was one of the things I loved the most about all those trips in N971RD.

Re: 2011 DA40-XLS sold looking to move into a DA20
I had a friend that was a quarter partner in a Tiger. They are great little planes. Really similar to a DA40 in how they handle and land. There are some *very* painful maintenance items (something to do with rudder cables, I think?) because it was designed as a disposable trainer and they thought mo...

Re: DA42-VI vs BRS
I am working on a laminated document for Pilot Incapacitation, I'll let you know when I'm done. But working it out a little while crossing the country, it's more than one button push, but nothing that is critical immediately. (I am on autopilot as soon as we are wheels up and until I am in the patte...
