Landing Gear Microswitch Failure
Yesterday I didn't get my '3 greens' while on approach, one was missing. After running through the emergency checklist and unable to resolve the condition, I landed without incident. One of the wires to the left gear's down microswitch had broken. See attached photo. Anyone else have this happen to ...

Re: GA friendly airport around DC?
BTW, I chose KCGS because it has a Metro stop (and Jet A). Should make it easy to get to the city center. Just be on your "A game" landing a DA62 on a 2600 foot runway with substantial displaced thresholds and the need to clear trees. You might be one of the few non-helicopter customers t...

Re: GA friendly airport around DC?
I started the process to gain access to the FRZ on April 23rd for a planned flight on May 17th. I'm not complete yet, but it really hasn't been that difficult. I've just been following the directions of the website for College Park airport and the people I've communicated with on that end have been ...

Re: Piper announces CD-170 powered Seminole
Mercedes is already TWO generations of diesel engines (i.e., 2008 vintage OM651 and 2016 vintage OM654) past the OM640 introduced in 2004, so I doubt they're still building new OM640s. Therefore I hope that Austro has a nice stockpile of OM640s sitting in their back room available for conversion to...

Max Fuel Capacity
In the DA40 forum there is a discussion on fuel leaking through the vents if the tanks are completely filled. Everyone has told me (and I have since confirmed) that if you fill the DA62 mains to the top, fuel will leak out so you need to stop fuel an inch or more before hitting the top of the tank. ...

I'm planning on it but haven't settled on dates yet. I agree, would be great to meet others!

Re: iPad Mount Options
Did you get USB 5V power outlets included in your DA62 (a pair under each end of the instrument panel + another pair in the rear of the center console for 2nd row passengers)? Yes, those are in place. But I don't think I've actually had anything plugged into them yet to make sure there is power the...

Re: iPad Mount Options
After talking with customer support, I learned that the tablet mounting provisions are not included with the standard aircraft. The locations are marked with the trim retention screws, but there are no threaded mounts beneath them. Moral of the story, ask for service bulletin OSB 62-007 to be taken ...

Re: G1000 Data issues
FWIW, I updated my G1000 NXi for the first time yesterday. I used a 64GB card and had no issues.

Re: iPad Mount Options
Just out of curiosity, what's the serial # of your new DA62 (Was it built in Canada or Austria)? It is 62.C003. I'll be following up with customer support and see if they can advise me on what the thread form is supposed to be for those screws. It's possible the wrong screws were just set into the ...
