You can imagine Europe where gallon of 100LL used to be $12 (or more) while JetA was $5. The prices these days are much lower ($7.60 vs $3.40) but the ratio is pretty much the same.

Re: Katana emergency landing in the Austrian alps

It's great that everyone is ok, I hope we'll get some info about sudden loss of power that led to crash landing.

Re: Finally the Launch??

Really disappointing numbers - my DA42 with CD-155 engines beats it in every aspect except in useful load. I don't see any market for it with that range (what's real range when flying 181 KTAS at FL160?), probably not so fast if you want range (I guess 150 KTAS), single engine, no chute.

Re: New CD170

I don’t think DA42 would benefit from CD-170. CD-170 is heavier than CD-155, has lower critical altitude (6000 ft vs 8000 ft) and lower TBR (1200 vs 2100) while having practically same continuous power.

Re: DA42 v DA62 Training Options

If DA42 is equipped with GFC700, I don’t see much difference, especially for the training purposes.

Re: New Owner - advice on configuration

Yes, infrared images are there. However, tbh I never managed to derive useful information from the way the grayscale data is displayed on the G1000. But then, it might just be me... ADL shows infrared image with four colors - light gray, dark grey, blue and cyan, each corresponding with certain ran...

Re: New Owner - advice on configuration

Thanks for the info. It wasn’t the case in the past and it’s not specified at GSR56 web page.
