This is vapor lock usually on a DA40. Mine did this many times 5000 ft and higher. When this happens turn on the electric pump for a few seconds.
I now have a Lancair ESP with TSIO-550E. This engine tends to vapor lock at 10K and higher. I run the back up pump on low and never have a problem.

I have only had one person bring this to my attention.I have many out to pilots now so I am sure if there is a fit issue with others I will here about it.
Also we made another production run of our nose wheel tow bar protectors if anyone needs a set.

It has been brought to my attention that on fin that fits the 2004 and newer wheel pants that the rear mounting hole is forward roughly by .180 of a inch. If anyone wants to re-drill the hole for testing we will send you a new fin at no charge if you like.

Steve, read carefully! I said initial flight. If your plane flys true without the trim tab then you can bend the tab flat. If it needs adjustment then you can install the tab the left or right as needed and bend to adjust.

I forgot to mention, the fin is a composite and is white thru out. Because DA changed the white three or four times from mercedes white to bmw etc. you can paint to get an exact paint match.

Production went great this past weekend. We are finishing the fins now and should be shipping by friday.

The fin is $300 and usually shipping is $25. You remove the two screws on top of your wheel pant and attached the fin with the longer screws provided.
