Re: Low Fuel Pressure Warning (G1000)
When these low pressure warnings occur, has anyone checked what the actual reading is? The alarm annunciation is a consequence of how the low-pressure sensing switch has been manufactured. The actual minimum fuel pressure for the engine is documented by Lycoming at 14 PSI, though this is at the inje...

Re: Low Fuel Pressure Warning (G1000)
More common, at altitude, I would see an unexplained significant increase in indicated fuel flow. Typically this would be jumping from ~10 GPH to something like 13, slowly backing down to normal over an extended period, perhaps 10-15 seconds This also happened immediately following the alarm. The P...

Re: Maximizing Lycoming IO360 Climb Performance
The Woodward governor I have has been subject to wear over time such that my max RPM had slowly come down to about 2650. It otherwise works fine. I'm in the process of adjusting the high-end stop to get that back up to the 2690 range. It appears half a turn of the adjusting screw is worth about 20 R...

Re: Low Fuel Pressure Warning (G1000)
Over 18-1/2 years I have spent spending considerable hours 10,000 ft+. And for the last 5-1/2 years I almost never cruise below 6,000 ft. (Terrain around here is 3000 ft+.) I have noticed this low fuel fuel pressure event exactly once. More common, at altitude, I would see an unexplained significant...

Re: Push pull Rod Mechanical Assemblies
I got to wondering what the inspection requirement is for these roller guides. Digging through the Maintenance Manual I found nothing. The only reference is replacement as a reaction to stiff/catching aileron movement. The functions I figure they deliver: 1. Support the mass of the rods themselves s...

Re: Push pull Rod Mechanical Assemblies
Rich I could really use the additional speed and climb rates. What kind of climb rates do you get coming out of a 5500 ft airport? I operate out of Albuquerque and Prescott for most of my flights. Was it a pretty simple install and worked without a lot tweaking? John My home airport is 3250 ft., bu...

Re: Push pull Rod Mechanical Assemblies
Rich, What mods have you done to bump up the cruise speed and climb rate. Most of my flights are at 10500 feet and higher and I get TAS of 129-132. Powerflow exhaust is the main one. At DA of 11,000 ft. I get 141 KTAS. At intermediate altitudes it'll be in the mid-140's. I always file 140 kt. The a...

Re: Push pull Rod Mechanical Assemblies
Mine (serial no. 208) was one of the first off the Canadian line, spring of '02. I've done several mods, some of which were to incorporate things that became standard in later year DA40s. The net of a couple of these were to bump cruise speed (and consistency thereof) and climb rate well above book,...
