Re: Cost of Upgrading to TAWS

I almost feel ashamed because I can read through that list and mentally check off having experienced TAWS alerts in the differing scenarios. The "pull up" reminder during takeoff caught me off guard once. Excessive descent warnings are a great during flight training - a nice cue that you'r...

Huh, used to be able to edit posts on these types of boards. Anyways, thanks Steve for pointing out the forgotten word.

Amend above to "fancy way of saying the tube under the rubber"

RSB40-082/1 Inspection of NLG elastomer pack center tube

New RSB has been posted on Diamond's support site: RSB40-082/1: Inspection of NLG elastomer pack center tube Basically, they're recommending that (basically) all DA40s with more than 1000 flight hours have their nose landing gear "elastomer pack center tube" (fancy way of saying the rubber...

Re: Cost of Upgrading to TAWS

On our ever favorite 2013 list price sheet: Part: 010-00330-51 Description: Unlock Datacard, T A W S Price: 8,268.75 Given the typical price escalations, 10k with "installation" (aka, booting the g1000 in config mode with a special card and updating aircraft logbooks) is a good ballpark. A...

Re: Advertising

Kai, First, let me extend my gratitude to you for hosting these forums. You're shepherding a great resource and community - everyone here is amazing. Now, honestly, I'd rather see a yearly donation drive to cover costs ala vansairforce forums than tacky advertising. DR's funding drive does come off ...

Re: Dry Lease Contract Samples

Thanks Mark, I've come across that as well and I think it'll be workable.

I'm hoping to get a look at the various ways folks have done this before I draft something to be reviewed by someone in the know.

Re: Abrasive wear

The tip of the acrylic latch is wearing down, which is loosening the fit against the female gap. The latch will not stay in an upright position anymore, it always falls to one side or another. I'll be out at the field sometime soon, I'll see if I can take a photo of what I'm seeing.

Abrasive wear

FWIW, I'd stick to the acrylic replacements. The metal ones are indestructible, which is the problem - they could, in theory and with time, wear straight through the primary canopy since they're much harder than the canopy material. DavidS, I am not sure from where you are taking your assumption. D...

Re: Window latch

Welcome to the forum Mert. I saw your intro in the Manassas hangar e-mail list the other day, will try to catch up sometime and introduce myself. (A couple rows away it seems.) FWIW, I'd stick to the acrylic replacements. The metal ones are indestructible, which is the problem - they could, in theor...

Dry Lease Contract Samples

Does anyone that has done dry leasing / block time leasing have any contracts that they'd be willing to share? I'm looking for some examples that can start as a base for a shared-lease I'm looking to do.

Thanks!
