Re: Inspection holes
I looked into getting the inspection holes for the front and back seats in my 2003 DA40. At the time (2017), the parts alone were several thousand dollars. Decided it was not worth it.

Re: Performance landing gear kit
I was recently in contact with Diamond Canada about whether there are any performance mods for a 2003 DA40 with the "thin" MLG struts , the old-style MLG wheel pants and no NLG strut cover. BL- Not really. 1) The MLG brake covers and strut covers are specific to the new style MLG wheel pan...

Re: Customer Survey - Diamond Aircraft 2022
Chris- Thanks for this. I suspect it did not go to those of us who purchased our aircraft used. I revisited my suggestions for a DA41 and gave Diamond extensive comments. I'm skeptical as to what changes might come, but I appreciate the chance to communicate with them as part of a mass effort. Bernie

I also have the 40 gallon tanks, which are adequate for my 2-3 hour flights. If you chose the 40 gallon option, there is an Optional Service Bulletin that outlines the procedure for changing them to 50 gallon tanks -- http://support.diamond-air.at/fileadmin/uploads/files/after_sales_support/DA40-180...

Re: Fuel Quantity Measuring Device
The requirement for DA40-180s is in the AMM Operating Limitations, page 2-20. The fuel measuring device is listed as required as part of the Minimum Operational Equipment for Day VFR flight.

Re: PIREP: Tempest Fine Wire Plugs
My shop charged $136 per plug ($1088 total) for Tempest fine wires in June. Regular plugs needed replacing so decided to try them. Happy with the result (slightly lower CHTs, smoother running).

Re: Interested in a Powered LEMO Adapter?
Lightspeed just released their new Delta Zulu Headset. Among the features are a rechargeable battery that can be powered by USB cord from ship's power. I think it would be awkward in our cockpits, especially since it means another cord, but would be an alternative to the LEMO adaptor. Other features...
