Re: Timing is everything...

I spent two weeks in Russia on business and also took my wife. Most of the people were very warm and nice. But with the current situation, I have no desire to ever return.

Re: Flying with Dogs

Our pup has hundreds of hours logged and just normally goes to sleep during flight. Regarding mutt muffs ear protection, they are pretty much worthless. I was curious and put them over my ears during a flight and they had very little noise reduction. I then took them to the lab at work and we pulled...

Re: 2023 Price List DA40NG

No wonder why used Diamonds have increased so much lately. I just added up the options I already have on my XLS which came to over $103,000 plus base price. Wonder what the base price for the Lycoming model is for 2023?

Re: Future Pilot?

A couple of summers ago we went up to Jasper for a mountain vacation. There are always a gazillion tourists in Jasper in the summer but the airfield is quiet and out of the way. But when we came back to the plane to leave, a family of recent immigrants was at the airport. Amidst all that natural be...

Future Pilot?

So my wife and I are having lunch on the patio at an airport café with a view overlooking transient parking. I noticed a family a few tables over with a small child with a sketch pad. Later, the father approaches our table with his five year old son and the son wants to show us his drawing of our DA...

Re: To prime or not to prime

I have had four factory new Diamond Stars since 2003 and found each plane seemed to have its own personality when doing hot starts. With each aircraft, I had to experiment to find the sweet spot. My wife and I try to fly at least once a week and usually stop at an airport that has an on-field restau...

Re: Which GA-35 antenna is connected to GIA63W #2?

The GA-35 antenna attached to GPS2 on my plane was replaced earlier this week and I re-ran the hangar tests with good results. Now both GPSs find lots of satellites relatively quickly with strong signal strength. I took the plane up for a test flight today and everything is working again as expecte...

Re: Pitch Trim DA400 GFC700

If you don't already have one, you might want to get a breaker ring and attach it the AP breaker so you find it fast. My plane was delivered from the DAC factory with a white ring already attached.

Re: Flying South-of-the-Border (Part 1): Ensenada for a Cause (Full ATC)

Hi Wayne. I really enjoyed this video. I am guessing that you had to make special arrangements for landing at Ensenada since as it is military airfield. Also, nice editing.
