Re: Corked Nose Wheel

that is the standard nose wheel pant. I will make a fin for that fin if I can get one to laser scan. The rear of this fin is much slimmer than the earlier models and requires a redesign of the mounting lip. If you can part with your wheel pant for a few days I will scan your pant and return it to y...

Re: Corked Nose Wheel

Haha. For sure. Just excited and hopeful. Bret sent me a fin for a trial run on my 2004 and it was quite a bit different in curvature of the fairing and mounting screw placement. I would have offered up my fairing for drafting but I have a partner in the plane and we fly a lot and didn’t want to go...

Re: Replacement of rubber t-profile connecting wing and hull

Does anyone know if there is a procedure anywhere for replacing this wing gap? I need to have mine replaced and have the part from diamond in now. I thought it would be a simple process but from this thread it looks like there may be quite a bit of labor involved. Is there a specification for the gl...

Re: Airventure parking DA40

Perry,
I'll be at Airventure camping in GAC. Also, I have gone the past 3 years with wheel pants on and had no issues. I did do the boards under the mains last year as Dave suggested and it was definitely easier to pull out when departing.

Re: Corked Nose Wheel

I’m assuming I had my first encounter with the corked nose wheel. I’ve had my 2011 DA40 for 8 mo and this was the first time I have noticed it. I departed with a mild left to right crosswind and small tailwind component. I had a terrible right yaw in cruise necessitating constant left rudder. I kep...

Re: Renting a DA40 in the Dallas TX area

A few years ago, I rented a steam gauge DA40 from here at KADS: https://www.professionalaviationresources.com/

There was also another flight school at KADS that I had looked at first that had a G1000 DA40 but it was down at the time. I don't recall their name now.

SMS & Data?

So I was browsing the Diamond website and noticed this statement in a testimonial on the DA42 page: Data link is great. Weather and sending emails and SMS at altitude. http://www.diamond-air.at/en/twin-engine-aircraft/da42-vi/ Is data and SMS part of the G1000nxi package? This is the first I've hear...

Re: First time Oshkosh: To wheel pants or not to wheel pants

I’ve gone the past 2 years with the wheel pants on and had no issues, other than them getting dirty of course.

Re: Main Battery Lasted Over 3.25 after Main Tie Trip

Sandy, I'm curious why your battery required such a high current to charge. It seems that even without a battery minder connected, the battery voltage on a new battery shouldn't drop that much even if it was sitting for a couple of weeks. Had you been using the avionics in the hangar assuming that t...
