Landing gear vibration
Taking off I notice a vibration coming from the front landing gear. My mechanic says when he lowers the tail he can wiggle the front landing gear leg quite a bit. He's supposed to call Diamond in London but that might take weeks as he is in the habit of taking his sweet time doing things. Has anyone...

Re: The ‘other’ ADS-B
Is this logic correct, or am I missing something? Lou your logic is correct. One data point is that in Canada the General Aviation fleet is old. Planes are 50 years old on average I believe. At my airport, I'm one of the few pilots younger than 50 years old. That worries me. Will the local COPA cha...

Re: ADSB Out Recommendations
I believe both do the job just fine. But for some reason avionics shops here are mostly Garmin. Therefore, that’s what they want to install since they are familiar with those.

Re: ForeFlight content pack - New York Scenic
Mark, thanks a lot for the pack. I will play with it over the weekend. Being from Montreal, I would be very interested in the Saranac lake / Lake Placid and Champlain Lake region. Thanks!

If I was to commit suicide but wanting to make it appear like an accident so my family gets the life insurance, this is one way to do it.
I have always wondered how many crashes are really a suicide.

Re: Exhaust Valves and Exhaust Risers
I guess I should be able to provide more empirical data soon. My engine has about 1500 hours on it and so far the compressions and oil consumption have been great. Touch wood. We'll see over the next two years how the situation evolves.

Re: Path to ADS-B & WAAS for older DA40s
I agree with Rich. My steam gauge DA20-C1 will get a Garmin GTX 335 in one year and I'll use a Foreflight Scout for ADSB-IN and AHRS on my iPad.
As a bonus, I will use the Garmin transponder to provide a WAAS gps signal to a Garmin G5.

Re: Pres-to-Test GEN/CANOPY Light STUCK
I haven't had this problem before. But I had it for other switches. Usually I end up replacing them, because once they start misbehaving, creating electrical arcs etc, even if I fix the problem temporarily, it has a tendency to come back. I feel your pain. Knowing Diamond, that's probably an expensi...
