Re: Maximizing Lycoming IO360 Climb Performance
This thread has got me thinking about takeoff performance. I've been watching my takeoff RPM and it seems to be low ~2620 as I begin my takeoff roll. Re: DA 42/62 Training
Midwest Corporate Air - Bellefontaine, OH. Great group of folks and top notch training. I got my multi-engine rating in their DA42. They have since added two more to their fleet.

"the KAP-140 tracks the lateral course well but does not provide VNAV guidance"
Interesting. I thought the KAP-140 with the G1000 WOULD track vertical path of a RNAV approach.
That's very disappointing.

Re: ADS-B FAIL intermittently
Same here. I get a ADS-B Fail just SW of Wilmington (KILN) enroute to Lunken (KLUK). Thought I had an avionics issue but it turns out to be very repeatable in just that location. Not to drift off the subject, on more than a handful of occasions I have have seen traffic (visually) that has not shown ...

Re: EFB as sole approach option
Years ago I acted as safety pilot while by buddy shot a practice instrument approach (in VMC conditions) using a Garmin handheld GPS (don't recall which model) as his sole reference. He actually did a reasonably good job and I believe he could have landed safely.

Re: Aviation oil recommendation
I switched from Aeroshell to Phillips X/C with Camguard. My oil analysis went from very good to great. I fly 50-75 hrs / year and change my oil every 6 months.
