Re: Flying the Caribbean (Part 8) - to Exuma, Bahamas -- When Words Fail
Awesome videos Wayne! I recently bought the propellor filter attachment for my GoPro, and works really well so you may wish to check that out if you are going to continue putting us all the shame with these great posts. Glad you enjoyed the Exumas. I was probably there at the same time, but sailing ...

Re: Need a broker to sell my DA40
Don, if you do decide that you really do need a broker, I would recommend Mike Farley from Premier. He is in Florida, but in my experience a very decent gent to do business with. PM me if you need his contact details. All these guys carry a list of folks looking for, or potentially interested in a D...

Re: Need a broker to sell my DA40
Why use a broker? I sold my 2008 XLS at a substantial profit without one. There are so few good DA40's on the market I cannot imagine you will need need to give away the $$'s to a broker when the buyer will likely be looking on Trade a Plane or Controller. If it was a Cirrus or similar where there a...

Re: DA40 vs. Cirrus SR20
Colin, could not agree more with your statement. We can all "cherry pick" out of the accident databases. The Reno accident example aside, another example, more recently was an SR22 that went down late January going from Aspen to Vail (2017 model I believe). They reported an issue with the ...

Re: DA40 vs. Cirrus SR20
Consider the case of 21 KT wind at the surface. In the Cirrus chute, you crunch uncontrollaby at 1700 fpm and 21 KT ground speed into whatever obstacle happens to be in your path. In the DA40 "Shaking Leaf" scenario, you steer into the wind and continue to fly the aircraft around any obst...

Re: Lac La Biche Fly In 2020
I was hoping to do Alton Bay in New Hampshire this year, but unfortunately the weather has been too warm for the ice to become thick enough for the "airport" (B18) to open.

Re: DA40 vs. Cirrus SR20
Another point to consider, is especially related to the year of SR20 you may consider. The new ones have a little more horsepower, up to 215hp. There has been quite a bit of noise around the less powerful SR20's being underpowered. So depending on where you live and your most common "missions&q...

Re: DA40NG article in Aviation Consummer
When I flew one, I think one of the key advantages (amongst a number) was the ease of start up, FADEC control and most of all the smooth and quiet operation. The noise reduction is huge in my view, which would make long flights more comfortable and less taxing. Also, I think with the shorter wings d...
