Re: DA62 Mx Intervals

She made it back home yesterday after a very thorough annual. 4.0 Block back to BFF and no squawks. David Seastead at Premier (FTW) did a fantastic job.

Re: DA62 Mx Intervals

Thanks Dave. Here are the chips that they found. Frankly quit shocked and disappointed on the gearboxes failing like this. Really makes me question the craftsmanship and quality of Diamond or the previous owner. Hard to imagine all this has happened within 100 hrs and we operate her all within the l...

Re: DA62 Mx Intervals

Well, N256AE is in for its first full annual since I got her last August. It’s in for the 400 hr down at Premier Aircraft Service in FTW and found BOTH gearboxes making metal. UGH. I wasn’t sure with all the experience and brain trust on the forums here, has anyone ever gotten a dual potential gearb...

Re: Off-Field Landing, IBEX, UT

How my luck is, if I tried that both engines wouldn’t have restarted.

Sweet photos Mark!

Re: Import broker for Canadian DA40 to USA?

Depending where you live and where the plane is crossing Dominion Aviation at KFCI in Virginia does a good job. For the FAA rep I used Mr. Brooks Smith. He does exceptional work and is a very refreshing resource for FAA matters instead of the usual useless dumb you know what at the FAA. The European...

Re: Mountain High for Built-In Oxygen System

Hey Jitters.

The 62 uses the BNC 750 connectors. Those can be used for the O2D1 & 2 plus the continuous flow products too.

Re: Slow Fuel Drip Drain Hole

Thank you Vickers.

I’ll get that incorporated on the next event.

She was a hangar queen in her previous life. Since I’m flying her a lot more then the previous owner, I knew this sort of stuff was going to come up.

Slow Fuel Drip Drain Hole

Good Evening Everyone, I wanted to pass this along to the braintrust here on the forum. I have recently noticed after a flight I see a small trickle of fuel coming out of the drain hole that is on the underside of the right engine nacelle behind the landing gear. The fuel slowly moves forward to whe...

Re: Minimum Engine Start Temperature / Cold Ops

Hi Felix, Our 62 is in a non heated hangar in Western Nebraska. We don’t do any real early flights so the temps are usually about close to freezing or mid 20’s. I try to start mine once a week for trips or joy rides to help with the batteries, but have seen no issues with temps in the low 20’s. I kn...

Re: TKS Preflight check

When doing the Deicing test, moving the toggle switch to the annunciator test takes around 2 minutes before you get the “De-Ice Pressure Low” annunciator. I believe it also checks your fluid level too. If it’s below the 2.6 gal point I believe you also get the deice level low. Once I get the avionic...
