Re: Da40 purchase

Hello Hans, Suggest you operate the plane in Europe.... The Diamond is a excellent plane for personal use. It needs a bit more care due to the composite airframe. That's why the flying clubs tend more to C's and P's. If you using it privatly .. The DA40 is definite the better choice. If you planning...

Re: DA40 as first plane?

Hi John, In 2009 I bought a 2003 Lycoming DA40 with Classic panel, KAP140 / 2x G430. The choice for the DA40 was the same reasons as everybody explained before. Decision Classic or G1000; in my case I fly VFR only and unfortunately only about 50hrs a year. As the (excellent) G1000 need a bit more tr...

Grand Old Lady and DA40

Had the opportunity to park my DA40 next to the Grand Old Lady. Till end of June, we have the whole Breitling Fleet operating out of (my) airport. Unfortunately the Super Conctellation take not part of the event this year. They had an engine failure during flight training and need to replace the eng...

Re: N807DS across Europe

Hi Antoine, Norwich is also on my "to go list" actually Seething Airfield, EGSJ, that's next to our friend bed and breakfast house, Chedgrave House, June and Alan Paine.
This airport is very friendly and GA minded, much better choice than Norwich.

regards Thomas. Buochs

Re: How much should I pay for a DA40 battery?

Hi , I agree with Rick, just replaced mine, RG24-15M .... Same price in EUR. Did it myself. No big deal.
After 4-5 y its a good idea to replace the batt. Specially if you flying to places without the poss to get GND power.
