agreed, that sure looks like someone installed in incorrectly.

Normally there is the "bong" noise when the warnings go off, perhaps somehow the sound file got corrupted wherever it lives in the G1000. You'd think the Garmin folks would know, or perhaps just reloading the system software would fix it.
