Need a replacement muffler for my 81hp A1. The exhaust pipe welds to the muffler are broken.
The shop tells me $2k for a used muffler!
Katanajr posted that Acorn welding manufactures an aftermarket muffler. Has anyone here bought a muffler from them? Price?

C1 stick grip for an A1?
I’m wondering if anyone has attempted to upgrade an A1 stick grip to the C1 style with built in trim switch? From what I can tell the only difference is 2 relays and the stick grip. I believe the grip is nearly identical other than the top switch. Diamond has a service bulletin for the early C1’s bu...

Re: iPad Pro 11, best mount
I used to fly with a 11” iPad but I had issues with it getting too hot as well as not being very usefull because I had to hold it to navigate which is hard in the da20. The iPad mini had overheating issues because I couldn’t keep it out of the sun. There wasn’t a good mount for it in the da20. In th...

Re: Crack on the leading edge
It appears to be superficial paint cracking. Most likely your best option is to find a glider repair center who is an expert with composites to determine how deep the crack is. Almost all glider repair shops deal with issues like this all the time and will probably know way more than a regular mecha...

Re: Anyone used Safari Express aircraft maintenance?
The short trip from KAWO to Boundary bay went well. The list on aopa and eaa are fairly complete. I believe you still need ArriveCAN (app) to prove that your vaccinated. Safari Express seems to be the area expert with Diamond Aircraft and rotax. I believe I counted 11 diamonds that they service! Alt...

Anyone used Safari Express aircraft maintenance?
Thinking of taking my Katana to Safari Express just near Bellingham at the Boundary Bay airport. Safariexpress.ca Anyone have any feedback or heard of them? I hate the idea of having to do the whole EAPIS customs bs just for maintenance, however there isn’t anyone in Washington that knows diamonds w...

Re: Foreflight prices going up 3/22
FlyQ is great if your flying in the US. I bought a lifetime subscription for $500 a few years ago.
1. Intuitive
2. Easy to use in flight
3. Integrates with Stratux, Uavionics, etc.
4. CHEAP
They also offer (or used to) a free subscription for CFI’s

Re: Aileron friction?
After disconnecting both ailerons from the bell crank, the friction seems to be isolated to the aileron controls inside the fuselage. 1. Right control stick pushrod rod end bearing is nearly frozen. 2. Nylock was very tight connecting bell crank to aileron push rods. This is the connection under the...

Re: Maintenance shops in WA or Oregon?
Thanks guys! Hopefully I can get this annual completed soon. My katana has been very reliable for 5 years. First issues I have had were this year.
