Sorry the medical thing didn't work out. You will have a ball with the boating. I would own a boat if the wife didn't want to hurl every time she even looks at a boat!

Re: Anti-ice coating

Problem I see would be that the surface would need to stay perfectly clean and I'd also worry that the process of cleaning it would alter the micro structure etched in. Cleaning it could polish or micro scratch it rendering the hydrophobic nature of the surface useless or at best reduced. Plus, what...

Re: Venting vapor from oil system after running?

I do this in my cirrus at shutdown. I also leave my oil check door open to let heat out. I also use camguard in my oil. I don't leave my cap off however. I close it once I'm all done putting things away and I'm ready to leave. I think the cont. cam lobe rust and pitting can be a problem for 550s tha...

Re: Farewell

Your gonna love the BO. I was down to the a36 or a Cirrus. Went with Cirrus for my needs and budget. I really wanted glass and couldn't swing the Bo with glass. I live in Ada, home of Tornado Alley Turbo and GAMI. Nice to have service on the field. That G36 is really a nice bird and will serve you w...

Re: UV Filtering

My transition lenses would turn dark under my canopy. Uv is not completely filtered like with glass.

Re: DA42 v Baron

If I could afford it, I'd buy a DA42 -VI in a second. It would also be a perfect plane for me. Just out of reach for me financially. Hell, even an older 42 is twice too much for me. That's why I went Cirrus. g2s are very affordable very capable quick modes of transport for my family. I don't mind fl...

Re: Can't pass a medical - thanks for a great time of sharin

Yes, didn't realize he is low time. Might be a nice upgrade in a few years. A G5 cirrus would be good and could handle the 4 200 pound guy mission. No problem transitioning from the diamond. Landings are not that much different at all. 200 pounds of fuel would take that load only a little over an ho...

Re: Can't pass a medical - thanks for a great time of sharin

No way your gonna fill 5 seats with big guys and 100 pounds of bags in any of those planes and still have room for any fuel. g5 cirrus turbo will only have an 1100 pound useful load. The piper matrix or mirage might work but I'd have to review the load ability. Still think that load for one of those...

Re: Can't pass a medical - thanks for a great time of sharin

This is awesome news.

As for your next plane, what single turbo aircraft are you looking at that can Cary 1100 pounds plus enough fuel to go anywhere? I can't think of any plane that could do that safely and fly more than a couple laps around the pattern. Just curious???

Keep us updated.
