Hello everybody,
Last month I decided to sell my 50 year old aircraft and order a brand new DA40NG, so that's also a great opportunity to join this forum
The wait for my new aircraft is still a very long time, I just heard it is estimated to be delivered in September 2022, so a year after ordering.
I guess the shortage of chips and other materials are impacting the delivery time of aircraft too...
So in the meantime I will rent other planes and keep on flying.
I'm sure the time will go by fast and I look forward to the excitement of picking up my new DA40NG in Austria.
From that moment on I will try to become more active on this Diamond Aviators.net forum.

Just a month ago I was told the delivery time in the U.S. was less than six months. Has anyone recently ordered a DA40NG in the U.S.? Have those times also slipped out?

Hi Russ, actually I was told the same thing here in Europe, just before I made the initial down payment, a month ago.

It is the product that kept me with my Diamond for more then 7 years now, not the lousy service...

Current delivery times for Canada-built DA40NGs (about 6-7 months) may be shorter than for Austria. That might be because US Diamond distributors can "pre-order" DA40s with popular options ahead of time, knowing that they'll find buyers prior to the delivery date. And because DA40NGs only come in white, there's still plenty of time for buyers to pick their vinyl stripe colors.

DA62 deliveries unfortunately are taking much longer due to supply chain issues.

Good news!
I just heard that my new DA40NG will be delivered earlier than expected: probably the end of June or beginning of July!

In the meantime I rent a DA40NG at Lelystad (EHLE) to prepare myself for flying my plane from the factory in Austria to the Netherlands.
