Re: Trip to retrieve my DA 40 XLS - The test flight

Post by Robin »

Once the prop was replaced, we spoke to the local charter joyflight pilots. We flew out along the Birdsville track. Very remote. The Birdsville track has been washed away by the floods. A new track has been built. To get across the Coopers Creek, flowing for the first time in 21 years, there is a punt. A boat that carries cars and tracks across.

totally sweet! Glad to see your bird is back up in the air. The floods though not so much. But great pictures none the less. Sounds like it was adventure. Thanks for sharing. One of my all time favorite trips was to Sydney and to the Blue Mountains ( I think). We had a "few" glasses of wine there ; )

Wow. What a great report. I like it very much. Thanks for sharing.

Now, the centre of town doesn't look like there is a lot of excitement.

I like the kangaroo-crossing signs. Here is a sign I see quite often here:

I bet our US members don't have a sign buffaloes crossing? (Sorry, for the topic drift)

And my favorite documentation on Australia's most famous inhabitant:

Hi Kai

My wife has a few scars from Wallabies - the smaller versions of Kangaroos. They can kick and scratch just as hard as the bigger Kangaroos.

When you come to Oz, take care

Regards
