Aldinga - South Australia

Post by Robin »

Hello

I had a few days off, school holidays, so my wife, daughter and I flew over to Aldinga for my dad's 83rd birthday. Aldinga is 30 kms south of Adelaide, the capital of South Australia.

Aldinga is where I learnt to fly, did my first lesson there December 31st, 1979. So many happy memories there. Today is is quite busy, a busy flying school, and quite a few hangers to avoid the more expensive airports in the main town Adelaide, and some mining companies have their planes based there.

Aldinga has no landing fees, you can make a donation to Angel Flight, which we support. Very nice coffees, and food.

We stayed with my parents at their house which is right on the beach front. We had lunch at a very nice winery, as we were staying I enjoyed a glass or 2 of McClaren Vale wines.

Near Aldinga is the McClaren Vale wine region. Most wineries now do food as well as wine tastings.

Some photos of the winery where we had my Dad's birthday lunch.
