Savanah,GA. New FBO

Post by mikeame01069 » Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:32 pm

ON Sat, June 30th, I went dow nto Fort Myers, Fl, for my third attempt to retreive my DA 40 and bring her home to Ohio. My fiend and CFII accompanied me.
We were some of the first peope into that new building, they don't even have the books o nthe shelves yet - still in boxes. This had to have been one of the nicest buildings I have seen. The hospitality was unreal - cookies and lemonade with a southern accent.

great AP! need a reason to go back.

Hey Tim, I'm planning on being in Dayton next Saturday for the air show - flying up in the morning and back that evening. Any chance you are going to the show Saturday?

I am based at KSAV. What is the name of this new FBO you are referring to in your post? I was unaware that there is anything besides Sheltair and Signiture on the field.

Matt, do you ever get over to Hilton Head? I've seen a few DA40's there and get down there about 4x a year.

I was there Monday for a few hours while waiting out a storm above KSAV that would not move. First time I had landed there in some time. The diversion was not all bad though, found a awesome new place to eat.

Not much help to you in Hilton Head. In Savannah I can suggest Green Truck Pub. Best hamburger on the planet. If you like seafood try Love's Seafood on the Ogeechee river. Both of these are within a 30 minute car ride from KSAV.
