First Bahamas flight

Post by Urquhart »

I just completed my 1st international flight, to Long Island Bahamas (MYLS). After lots of planning, turned out to be no big deal. Couple of notes however...Sirrrus XM Nexrad does NOT work outside the florida coast and Nassau controllers did not give me notice that I was flying into moderate precipitation  I have always had ATC inform me of adverse weather in my path but not this time. Interesting that I still had Nexrad images on the screen over US and was not aware I had false negatine images offshore.
Beatiful scenery and great weather, good checkoff on my bucket list.

No Bahamas for me any time soon with a 3wk old daughter.
Oh well.. You Bahamas-bound people stop by KDED for a lunch or something. It is on the way, so no excuses :-D
