Travel Through Virginia
I will be travelling from Atlanta to Philadelphia this month. Does anyone know a good airport to stop in Virginia for fuel and a good lunch?

Charlie, if you take the west side of the SFRA, your half-way point will be very near my home drome KROA (Roanoke VA), but there is no food on the field and gas is a bit expensive. Just a short hop north is KLWB (Lewisburg, WV), which has a very nice restaurant on the field, and more reasonable fuel - and a 7000' x 150' runway! Or, just to the south there is KMTV (Martinsville VA) which has cheap fuel and a little restaurant in the FBO that serves lunch. Those would be my recommendations.

Concur with the recommendation for Martinsville. If you are going east of the SFRA Hampton Roads Exec PVG, Suffolk SFQ and Williamsburg JGG all have restaurants on the field and all are in the eastern part of the state in the tidewater area. Newport News PHF has longer runways and both fbo's have crew cars for restaurants within a half mile. Same with Tappahannock XSA.

One more option that may be right on your way if you plan to fly to the eastern side of the DC SFRA:
Try KFCI Chesterfield airport in a suburb of Richmond. It has a nice on-airport restaurant usually with a lunch buffet, decent FBO and a 5500 foot runway.

Like Dave said, Kings Corner lunch at FCI is pretty good. A little more off the beaten path is Hummel Field. It's a beautiful area to fly over the Chesapeake Bay and the Rappahanock River. Three or four of Restaurants in walking distance, but self service fuel and grass parking.

Re: Travel Through Virginia
Unfortunately the restaurant at KMTV has closed again. If you can make it a little farther to the south before stopping, I would highly recommend KHKY. They have an excellent restaurant on the field (best airport food I've found so far) and a cool aviation museum.
