Re: KVDF, Tampa FL
Yeah... I noticed that. I think it may have been lights bouncing off the plexiglass?

AndrewM, Nice strong lights lighting up the Piano Keys and r/w 23. What lights do you have?
I'm a few miles away at KPCM with my DA-20. Got to love Florida night flights this time of year. Flew over to the other coast (of Florida) to watch a night rocket launch about a week ago. I also GoPro'ed the flights. It took two nights and two flights to make it happen - the first night was scrubbed. Initially the launch was delayed for some rocket issues - then one airliner busted the airspace and the launch window closed. The next night it went off on time at the beginning of the launch window. Easy to monitor the Space Launch Schedule at "SpaceflightNow.com" if you want to go check it out yourself. The KTIX tower is helpful if they are not busy to give you an update on the launch status while you orbit. Fairly easy to navigate. Restricted a/s is 11K+, the TFR is to the east of the Cape so just stay about 10 nm west of the intercostal waterway and then turn inbound when the rocket goes. Pay attention to Orlando's Class B on your transit to/from the cape.
Recommend you get the comm hookup harness for your GoPro - it is real nice to get in cockpit conversations and radio calls - and not all that engine noise. I think I picked mine up from Sporty's but you can get them from others. You do need the plastic GoPro housing that has a side access hole so you can hook in the comm wire.

Re: KVDF, Tampa FL
Just the standard lights... will look to upgrade to LED at some stage though.
Cool footage of the rocket launch!
