Thanks so much for the Bahamas info. When flying KFPR to MYCB, what route do you take? IFR or VFR flight plan?

I file an ICAO format IFR flight plan (using Foreflight on an iPad).

By the way, to EXIT the USA, you can fly from any airfield, no need to for KFPR, KFXE or the like. Just file eAPIS, and go! Way back into the US, you need an AoE like those mentioned. As ATC sometimes steers you away from traffic for the first 15-20 min of flight, sometimes better to go VFR weather permitting.

Re: Flyout to the Bahamas?
Sorry I let this thread drop, but my schedule didn't allow for vacation planning these past few months. It so happens the plane is at Premier in Ft. Lauderdale for ADSB now, and so I'm thinking of making the hop over to the Bahamas maybe at the end of this month.
Are there any differences in local flight routines I should know about? For example, let's say I wanted to spend a day flying MCYB > MYLS > MYCH > MCYB just to get them all in my logbook. Assuming VFR, do I need to file a flight plan or call for Flight Following or anything like that?

Re: Flyout to the Bahamas?
Except for entering or leaving the Freeport and Nassau TMA, no need for flight plans. Flight following can always be requested from Miami on 125.7 if you have longer stretches over water.

Re: Flyout to the Bahamas?
Thanks! If I wanted to just land, taxi back, and take off again, do I need to check in for any reason (such as paying a landing fee) at most airports? Not considering Freeport or Nassau currently.
