Canadian flight training
Flying back to Petaluma (O69) yesterday from Klamath Falls (KLMT) VFR at 10,500' just east of Mt. Shasta I was passed by a flock of Canadian geese flying about 1,000' higher. Many thanks to the Canadian authorities that trained the geese to ensure good vertical separation!

Re: Canadian flight training
Maybe the only nice thing anyone has ever said about Canada geese! Lol
And in a spirit of reciprocity, last Saturday we were at 4500’ SW of CYZU when a bald eagle circle up right beside us in a thermal - spectacular. Too bad it happened too fast to grab a camera!

Which part of my message didn't you understand? Happy to help out if you've made an unintended inference.Rich wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 12:11 amYou were passed by a flock of geese? Re: Canadian flight training
Clearly, if they were separated by 1000', they were flying in the opposite direction - that's how he passed them!

Re: Canadian flight training
Ah, but passive voice (was passed) could cause one to infer the opposite. Just a bit of grammatical humor here - no offense

Re: Canadian flight training
I used to fly the A-10. Damned thing was so slow that we regularly took bird strikes from the rear. It happen so regularly from Canadian Geese that there was a check box on the maintenance debrief form for "Goosed"...
