Hi Marc,

Do you have any update on how the mount is working?

Thanks

Hi

It arrived Friday afternoon and I have not even had a chance to open the package.

Will report next week.

Hi Marc,

Thanks, I look forward to hearing about it. Now that foreflight has Canadian charts, I am more motivated to put an iPad in the plane.

I've been using my iPad for two years in my plane and I just set it on top of my standard aluminum kneeboard. It works perfectly. I wouldn't want a mount for it. I'm curious how you will find it after many hours of use.

Hi

Tried the seasucker mount with an iPad2 yesterday. It fits well when attached just above and slightly ahead of the small window. The iPad ends up tucked nicely on the left without hiding any displays but it does block the airflow from the left vent. Seems very solid.

I will try it in flight in the next few days.

Went to the local GPS store to look at Ram mounts, but the seasucker seems much more robust.

Thanks Marc, good to know it fits. Interesting to see if it moves or vibrates too much in flight with the flexible arm.

Tim, let me know as well. I used the seasucker on the vent window, and when trying to adjust the angle of the iPad a broke off the window latch :( . $55 later I have a new latch, but don't want to do that again. I would love to see a picture of your arrangement to see if it will work in the DA42 as well.

Will this thing work in a DA40 ?

http://www.gforcemount.com/GF260.htm

Would also like to know if the Seasucker bounces around too much in turbulence.

I am looking at a few options too, here is another one to look at.

http://www.mygoflight.com/

I haven't tried it yet but I did send them an email inquiring about a DA40. I have pasted the reply below since they seem to be responsive and flexible.

Thank you for your inquiry. If your cockpit is anything like the picture: Image

We would suggest a couple things: It looks like you have a lot of possibilities to use our Glare Shield mount http://www.mygoflight.com/sport-mount-glare-shield/

If you would like it to mount using a suction cup, that way you can maneuver the mount into any new location you want, I would suggest the Compact Suction Cup mount http://www.mygoflight.com/sport-mount-c ... ction-cup/
This model has a compact arm length so your iPad sits nice and close to the surface you mount it to. The suction cup requires a smooth surface to mount to i.e.: window, counter top, etc. If you do not have such a smooth surface, we suggest you add on the Suction Cup Base Plate. This adheres to most surfaces and provides a smooth surface for the suction mount to grab onto. The suction base is 3" in diameter.

We are really flexible if you would like to order more than one mount, try to see which is best, and return the one you end up not wanting. We hope this helps and please let us know if there are any more questions! Thank you.
