I think I heard them say they would SAT call the controller if they needed to talk - hopefully they gave the controller their SAT number? Long stretch over Greenland to be out of VHF or any other kind of coverage!

Looking forward to the next two episodes!

The weather was VMC on top, so no real need for the Pitot Heat. As for the Sat phone, the number was listed in the flight plan, although there were large stretches with no VF coverage at all, which is pretty typical in that area and also in Northern Canada. Once we start moving south from Frobisher Bay, we fly IFR in uncontrolled airspace for most of that flight. That is a different experience for sure. And, since we switch from Edmonton Center to Montreal Center, that creates a bit of a new wrinkle as well. I hope they show that in the next video, and make sure you brush up on those procedures if you ever plan on flying in that part of the country.

Loved the series! I recently purchased a new DA62 and thoroughly love the plane and watching/reading about them. Great job on very good production!

I was VERY surprised to see that I'm included in the final episode. As the 2 pond-crossing anthracite DA62s arrived at the London factory on September 27, my customer and I just happened to be out on the Diamond ramp that afternoon preparing his blue DA62 for a short flight departing to Port Huron, MI -- so we could import the new plane and clear US Customs at KPHN, and then fly it to the new owner's home airport in MI.

It's a small world...
