Post by Tilemachos »

Hello guys.. Some help please: How the air tach is being measured since there is no weight on wheels switch? Probably ground speed, but from which number???

The DA42 has two "weight on wheels" switches, one for each main landing gear. The G1000 MFD "Time in service" hours are the time that a DA42 has no weight on its wheels (i.e., flying hours). (The fixed gear DA40 uses airspeed for Time in Service instead of a switch -- rumored to be anything above 40 knots IAS.)

And welcome to the DAN forum.
