Our insurance company has decided to exiting the marketplace, and the brokers new recomendation is double! Allianz has exited. At least I think that is the company according to my pilot wife. So from 2400 to 4800 for a 2019 DA40 NG with 44 hours on the tach.

Any recomendations? Thanks

Ouch. I really like vneuville@air-pros.com Air Pros, my agent is Victoria Neuville and she got me under $5k when my previous insurance company (I was with them over a decade with no claims) wanted over $20k.

As you know from the cars, a lot of it is about hull value and you can probably do better if you are willing to absorb the loss.

I've been very happy with AOPA insurance. Luckily, I haven't needed to collect yet, but the prices seem very reasonable.

I use AOPA (brokerage) too. When it came time to renew this year they let me know that my previous company was exiting the market. They recommended a new company and the new price was lower! So far so good.

So thanks all for the recomendations! I thought I would post this screen shot to give you an idea as to what we are getting. One broker said it is the uptick in accidents and the 737 Max is tricking down to GA. So we might all be in for a rate increase. For comparison sake 40 hours in type, 560 total time non IFR but working on it. No accidents or anything detrimental.

Those seem like large numbers. Perhaps because of the hull value.

I don't want to break any rules, or over share, but ...
We have a 2009 DA40-XLS, Hull value $262k, 2 IFR rated pilots both at about 550 total hours. Our 2019 insurance was $1516 with Assured Partners through AOPA.

We can only dream in Europe about such numbers. My yearly insurance for 2007 DA42 is around $7.500.

That sounds rather steep to me. I was paying about 4k€ for a 2008 DA42 NG covered with a 430k€ hull value. Germany.
