Gust lock

Post by jprhode »

Hi

Ok I tried and failed to get the gust lock on my plane. Seems like it should be similar to the DA40, which I know how to do, but for the 62 I’m missing something. Any pointers? Seems like the base goes over the top of the pedals, but the slots aren’t wide enough.

Any clues much appreciated.

Cheers

I was confused by that too the first time, but it will snap over the top of the rudder pedals, it helps to hold it at a bit of an angle and you might need to hit it with your hand to snap into place. Seems like they could have made that slot on the lock a bit wider.

Hook it over the top of the rudder pedals (lower) rather than the brake pedals (higher).

Also if you tilt the gust lock shaft upwards at about a 45 degree angle when you first attach it to the pedals, it hooks to the pedals relatively easily.

Maybe you could try a flat mill file and open the slot a bit.
