Dave: I received confirmation from Beringer this morning:
You are able put these on your plane without our Master Cylinders.
Alpine quoted me about $3,500 for my DA40NG for wheels (3) and brakes (2).

However, the Beringer brakes require MIL-PRF-87257 fluid. Apparently different fluids require different seals. I'm guessing the Cleveland cylinders are using a different fluid which means they can't necessarily be used with the Beringer brakes. The Cleveland cylinders also have a 5/8" bore and Beringer recommends no more than 9/16".

It looks like it's best to replace the cylinders as well.

And more research shows that the MIL-PRF-5606 fluid used in Diamond's is compatible with the seals in the Beringer cylinders and brakes. Beringer cylinder bores are 1/2" and they recommend 9/16" max. The Cleveland cylinders, on DA40/42/62 are 5/8" which Beringer says may not generate enough pressure. So...
