I'm Getting a DA62
Had my demo flight in the DA62 today. It met my expectations in most regards and surpassed them in others.
Most importantly, my wife (who has grown accustomed to the PC-12 I am selling) said she would be willing to fly in it. Those wide seats, big windows, A/C and feel of a luxury SUV really worked!
My decisions on configuration, in some instances, were strongly influenced by the well informed opinions I received here in previous posts.
I know this is a small community (although the DA42 flyers are "cousins") but I have to say that the tone, tenor and quality of commentary on this forum is great. High in information content and low in snark. I look forward to meeting some of you at some point in the non-virtual world.
For now, wish me luck. It's promised my new bird arrives in November. I'm thinking Red over Silver....

Norm,
That is exciting news. When I used to live in Tampa went to the Exumas regularly, so the mission you have described in earlier posts I can absolutely see where you are coming from and you will have a blast.

Re: I'm Getting a DA62
Congrats! I just got mine a few months ago, and I couldn't be happier. Just got my MEL last week (after a bad Feb for flying/training in the northeast). Couldn't be happier with the plane. Unlike every other plan owner I know, I don't have any desire to upgrade or switch to another platform -- the DA62 hits every button for me.

Congratulations! I just bought a brand new DA62 in December and it's already in for its 100-hour inspection-- that's how much fun I've had with it. You will love this plane.

Re: I'm Getting a DA62
I got mine in January and have about 63 hours on it so far. We're trying to figure out when to shoehorn in the upcoming 100-hr between trips already in the planning stages.
