We will see what the reaction is at OSH, where they will start taking orders. Yes, it's about 10 knots slower than an SR22. And less range. The chute - well, you're either in the "gotta have it" camp, in which case you will pass up lots of good airplanes, or the "don't care/nice to have but not necessary" camp. Those folks will take a look at the -50.
Having said that, I expect the speed/range factors to be relevant to some, but the proof will be in the sales pudding... I will take a look at it next week while at OSH.

Re: Finally the Launch??
Would appreciate seeing any info you can collect at OSH and the price. To me the fuel difference is a big plus for DA50--what do you think? And there is a third camp for chute: it is a net negative: cost and weight outweigh rare chance you'd ever need it.
Thanks,
Drew

Re: Finally the Launch??
Saw a video with sales official at OSH saying the price is $1.15 million. I was expecting they'd try $750K. That's a ridiculously high price, and end of my interest in DA50.

Re: Finally the Launch??
Having sat in the DA62, a similar fuselage, and the latest SR22, you are never going to see something like this for $750k. They are just aiming higher. Which is fine.
