Guess what happens. I met 2 new friends and we are flying around in an Aerostar 700P. I even got to hand fly it for a bit. Wow. This is serious turbine performance.
We climbed out of Geneva at 165 KIAS and 1'500 fpm!
The aircraft is incredibly complex, but it is truly a wonderful flyer! Love it.
Antoine,
I think I see a Cirrus jet in your future :)

My Bonanza is fast enough for me. I'm still trying to learn to fly this plane. While it climbs >1000 fpm up to maximum altitude, it burns 36+ gph in the climb!

That's the same fuel burn as the Cirrus jet, Cary. But I think you are climbing faster. (Although JetA is quite a bit cheaper than 110LL.)

I do miss the efficiency of the DA42. While it was not as fast in the climb or at cruise, burning on 11.2 gph in cruise with the DA42 was much better than my current lean of peak cruise burn of 17 gph. But, there is no free lunch.

I spent some time with Cirrus' chief demo pilot for the Vision Jet, and he told me it typically burns 70 gph in cruise!
So Cary enjoy that you're only burning 35 gph in the climb. :)

"Dec 2, 2015 - The climb burns 32 gallons/214 pounds of fuel..."

Oh. I read that as "per hour." Glad I didn't run out to buy one.

165? That is cruise climb. Go up at blueline of 117 and watch you as you almost hit 3K FPM. You climb like a homesick angle.

I miss mine, until it is time to get gas.

Tm did you actually own a 700 P?

We refueled today at a CHEAP place in France and it was 1200 Euros. The airport manager greeted us in person!!!
Holy Moly.
And THEN we had to cancel our flight due to both alternators failing. Spent 5 hours fixing this (partly).
I am on an airliner tomorrow at 0600.
This thing is TWO Extra 400s bolted together ! Makes me feel SOOOO much better :)
