AirVenture 2016 Oshkosh
If anyone else is going to Oshkosh (OK, EAA AirVenture), please stop by the Diamond exhibit and say hi -- I'll be flying in to KOSH and should be there working the Diamond exhibit all week. (For those of you unaware, I've been working for Diamond distributor LifeStyle Aviation, providing sales, ferry flights, and after-sale transition training for owners new to Diamonds.)
Diamond is planning to display the new 7-seat DA62, a DA42-VI (not mine), the Austro diesel-powered DA40NG, and a DA20 at their exhibit, which can be found here: http://spirit.eaa.org/appscode/expocad/ ... l?zoomto=9
It should be the first exhibit on the far left after coming in the main entrance to AirVenture, right across from Textron (Cessna/Beechcraft).

Confirmed, Diamond has a really nice setup at Oshkosh this year. And the major plus (for me, anyways) is that folks working the area will actually talk to you... I guess I don't look the part enough for the other manufacturers.
Make sure to stop by and see the latest DA42 SB.

I plan on coming on Thursday for the day. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can fly in and leave the same day. See you there, Dave.

FWIW, we were planning to leave on Thursday, but the Wx is supposed to be "interesting," so we won't leave until Friday.

Re: AirVenture 2016 Oshkosh
Stopped in the Diamond display on Monday and Tuesday.Nice to see DAI presence at Airventure. Had a chance to sit in all 3 rows of the 62.
Nice fit and finish on the interior,I liked the pilot seat front that flips up for easier entry. Middle row has more room than my 42,lots of leg room.
I'm 5'11" and would need to be a few inches shorter to sit comfortably in back row. It sure attracted a lot of interest.

Re: AirVenture 2016 Oshkosh
One of the cool things that Diamond did this year at Oshkosh is they literally put a "DA42 on a stick:"
As you may know, Embry-Riddle University (ERU) replaced their older DA42 L360 (Avgas Lycoming-powered) models with a purchase of 10 new DA42-VI aircraft. As part of the deal, Diamond took one of their old DA42 L360 test aircraft, removed the engines, replaced the engine cowlings with those of the "dash six" DA42s, and mounted it on a large pole at the AirVenture Diamond exhibit. The pole is anchored into the ground with concrete more than 10 feet deep, and the plane is lit up from below at night. As you can imagine, it's drawn a lot of attention here at Oshkosh.
After completion of the show, the aircraft and the pole will be moved to ERU's Daytona Beech, FL campus where the plane will be permanently mounted.
Bonus Diamond Aircraft trivia question:
Name all the locations where you will find a "DA20 on a Stick" (and why these particular DA20s were relegated to static display on top of poles).
