Starting yesterday (Nov 10) evening until about 9:00 this morning, local time. All (with the exception of KGEG) civilian ATIS reports that I checked in Washington and Oregon ceased being transmitted to the system where ADS-B and websites such as AOPA and NOAA grab their METARs. Forecasts were unaffected. Military fields were unaffected. AWOS/ASOS airports were mostly unaffected, though a few were of these were also noticed to be offline. The ATIS audio reporting seemed to work fine.
Lots of consternation around here and speculation as to the cause. I suspect it has to do with physical and software infrastructure that parses and transports the data to whatever is the main reporting system from what are likely to be disparate sourcing infrastructure.
